What is the SSG Fox Program?

The Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) is a key initiative of Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center combating Veteran suicide across El Paso and Teller Counties in Colorado. SSG Fox SPGP is a VA funded grant connecting at-risk Veterans to upstream suicide prevention tools. These tools include targeted outreach events, warm hand-offs to VA clinical and administrative staff, connection to local community resources, and individualized programs to help reduce the risk of Veteran suicide.

What it means for Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center

Suicide is a national public health concern that affects all Americans, including Veterans, their families, and their friends. Thanks to the support of the SSG Fox grant, Mt. Carmel is able to expand our services and strengthen the care we provide to those who are struggling. This funding allows us to reach more people, respond more quickly, and offer deeper, more comprehensive support when it’s needed most. We are profoundly grateful for the opportunity to continue this life‑saving work and to stand alongside Veterans, families, and our community with compassion, connection, and hope.
