INTERNSHIPS
Available Internship Opportunities
Military Veterans, Family and Services Internship
MVFS accepts Bachelor’s level interns as well as some Master’s level interns. We are not restricted by any particular school, but of course encourage interns in local colleges and universities to apply. We have housed interns from the University of Florida and University of Kentucky, so the only important thing is to ensure that our program is the right fit for the student’s school’s internship requirements. Students interested in internship opportunities need to call and schedule an interview. During the interview we will evaluate hours needed, start date, supervision required, and skills desired to grow to determine best fit. Internships are typically on a semester basis, although that is again contingent on the school’s requirement. We look for interns that are eager to learn, will be good team members, and are invested in their internship and the population that we serve.
Health and Wellness Internship
The health and wellness team chooses top graduate and PhD interns from accredited universities to provide therapeutic services to our military community. We offer onsite supervision from licensed professionals who have experience working with the military and trauma. We are one of the top sites for interns in our community, and have strong working relationships with the universities we partner with. Many of our Behavioral Health interns have either served or are family members. Our interns not only experience working with our military community (Veterans, Service Members, and their families), but also receive military specific training. Specific training in: PTS(D) (Post Traumatic Stress), C-PTSD, DBT, ACT, IFS, IMAGO, Trauma Informed Care, and Military cultural competence. Our internship program allows Mt. Carmel VSC to provide high quality and low cost behavioral health care with no barriers.
