Job Summary

Obtains and manages all PRCA photographs used for media sourcing.  Maintains accurate records of all photographs.  Responsible for the processing, scheduling, and supervision of all contract photographers.

 

Essential Duties:

·         Responsible for all photography provided on behalf of the company.  Coordinates and manages photographic coverage at major PRCA events.

·         Fulfills all requests for photos from sponsors, media outlets, and in-house needs.

·         Identifies and organizes photography needed for all publications, other association projects, sponsorship packages, company presentations and Hall of Fame displays.

·         Coordinate photo shoots and bio photos.

·         Oversees the selection of PRCA contracted photographers.

·         Instructs prospective photographers on how to submit portfolios for consideration by the PRCA. Processes submitted portfolios for membership to the PRCA.

·         Negotiate terms with all photographers providing services to the PRCA.  Provides contracts and payment schedules to approved photographers.

·         Tracks photographers and coverage of PRCA rodeos. Emails upcoming PRCA rodeos schedules to member photographers weekly to ensure proper photographic coverage.  Ensures photo credits are accurate prior to post.

·         Supervises contract photographers at PRCA events.

·         Works closely with PRCA photographers as a liaison between media outlets, associations, and the PRCA.

·         Establishes guidelines, procedures, and approval process for PRCA photographers.  Informs rodeo committees of PRCA media guidelines.

·         Manages and maintains PRCA photo archive, including paper files and digitizes paper files as they are used.

·         Assists with media and PR initiatives, including editing photos requested from media outlets, rodeo committees, etc.

·         Assist in weekly news releases providing photographic content for standings and helping with layout and send-out of the press release.

·         Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

·         Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years of relevant experience.   Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

·         Knowledge of the sports industry, media and/or rodeo is a plus.

·         Proficient in Photo Shop and Adobe software.

·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

·         High level of interpersonal skills and integrity to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.

·         High level of communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate with poise, tact, and diplomacy.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
·         Ability to read, analyze and interpret information.

·         Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·         Maintains technical skills and knowledge of industry.

·         Ability to work non-traditional days and hours.

·         Ability to travel.

 

Work Environment:

Works in office environment with frequent travel for meetings, seminars, and conventions in and out of state.

 

Physical Demands:

This is a sedentary role; however, movement and lifting are required. Position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. to assist in carrying, lifting, and packing equipment, and setting up camera equipment and tripods.  Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, and stand. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
